Description
Prof. Glen Niebur, Aerospace & ME Dept., Notre Dame. Bone marrow is an essential tissue in the human body that supports important physiological functions. One essential family of cells in the bone marrow supports hematopoiesis and immune regulation. A second family of cells – the mesenchymal stromal cells – is necessary to support the first, but also provides cells necessary to generate new connective tissue, including the bone itself.
