Presented by Brendan Loula, MA student in Ethnomusicology. The presentation will be a discussion of some of the more visible cultural manifestations in the Brazilian state of Maranhão, especially the Afro-Brazilian dance Tambor de Crioula and the musical-theatrical tradition of Bumba-Meu-Boi.
