Liz Hennessy (Geography, Nelson Institute), presents "Science and the Politics of Place: Making a “Natural Laboratory” in the Galápagos Islands." Using a case study on the founding of a research station and national park in the Galápagos Islands, the talk argues that geographies of science need to contend with the multiple competing territorial claims that shape where scientists do their work.
