The second feature from celebrated Italian director Bellocchio (Fists in the Pocket) is an artfully constructed satirical farce set against the backdrop of the Socialist movement of the late 60s. A working class pair of lovers who seek to marry into wealth set their sights on an aristocratic professor (Mauri) and his promiscuous sister (Tattoli, who co-wrote the film and served as art director).
