The talk will focus primarily on the controversial issue of religious extremism and the impact of that on affording justice to women. It will concentrate on the image of Maldives as a paradise on earth and how much of a fallacy that is for the vulnerable groups in Maldives, particularly women and girls. It will also take into account a case study of a 15 year old girl who was sentenced to flogged by the Court
