Materials Science & MRSEC seminar by Barry P. Rand, Electrical Engr., Princeton Univ.

Teaching old materials new tricks: Making organic semiconductors crystallize at large scale and metals emit light

Event Details

Date
Thursday, November 5, 2015
Time
4-5 p.m.
Description
In this seminar, we will focus on two aspects of our work that look at materials which have been studied for quite some time, but try to utilize them in new and interesting ways. In the first part, we will focus on our recent efforts to control the growth of organic semiconductors. Through proper control of processing, we are able to realize pinhole free films with grains of up to 500 μm in extent. We will show our efforts to understand their formation and epitaxy of like and unlike adlayers.
