Materials Science Seminar

Engineering Biomaterials to Control Neural Stem Cell Fate and Tissue Morphogenesis

Event Details

Date
Thursday, October 29, 2015
Time
4 p.m.
Description
Prof. Randolph Ashton, BME, UW-Madsion. Neural stem cells persist throughout life within the human brain and spinal cord and can be readily derived from human pluripotent stem cells. They are not only a source of neural cells that enable life-long learning and memory in vivo, but they can also be harnessed to derive powerful cell therapies and in vitro tools to advance neural regenerative medicine.
