Current models predict that obesity and obesity-related diseases such as diabetes will pose the greatest health problems of the 21st century. During this talk, Parks will review the underlying biological nature of obesity and how our genetic makeup can play a big part in predisposition to obesity. Understanding how genetics and diet interact to contribute to obesity is essential in developing appropriate clinical therapies.
