Time
5-7 p.m.
Location
The Terrace, Memorial Union
Description
Milkhouse Radio is a Madison area string band, specializing in bluegrass, but ringing the rafters with country, blues, and fusion covers of whatever strikes them right. With banjo, guitar, fiddle, mandolin, upright bass, and a wide range of vocals, they bring a fast-paced, high lonesome classic bluegrass sound mixed alongside a growing number of Milkhouse Radio originals right at home beside the classics. Whether on State Street during a Saturday farmer’s market or on the auditorium stage, their toe-tapping shows deliver on their mission to keep Dane County and the cows entertained.
Currently ranked #1 on ReverbNation’s chart of Madison area bluegrass bands, Milkhouse Radio plays a monthly gig at the Mason Lounge and have also played at the East Troy Bluegrass Festival, the White Lake Beach Resort Brewgrass Festival, the Frequency, One Barrel Brewing Company, Babes, Brinks Lounge, High Noon Saloon, Parched Eagle, Capital Brewing, Whole Foods’ Burgers and Bluegrass Sessions, Tyranena, Agora Art Fair, as well as at many private events. In addition, their music has been featured on Wisconsin Public Radio, WORT, WVMO, as well as on the Yahara Music Library.
