BMI Seminar with Barbara Stranger of Northwestern - virtual only

Dr. Stranger will discuss her work understanding the genetic effects on the transcriptome in humans and how these regulatory mechanisms link to complex traits and diseases. She will discuss the context specificity of these genetic effects, focusing on Genotype-Tissue Expression (GTEx) data. She will also discuss the challenges encountered when applying the same statistical approaches to heterogenous cancer transcriptomes, as well as some possible solutions.
