Mantovani is an assistant professor in the Department of Animal and Dairy Sciences. He joined UW-Madison in March of this year focusing on rumen microbial physiology as it relates to animal biology and advancing the sustainability of animal sourced food systems. Mantovani’s research centers on understanding the functions and mechanisms of interaction of gastrointestinal microbes and exploring their potential to promote livestock health and increase animal productivity.
