Dr. Liu will discuss a set of computational methods his lab developed to study the cellular epigenomes from cell-free DNA (cfDNA) fragmentation patterns. Specifically, eh will describe a computational method to de novo characterize the genome-wide cfDNA fragmentation hotspots, infer the open chrmoatic regions within cells, and boos teh power for cancer early detection, as well as a model to accurately predict DNA methylation and identify tissues-of-origin in cfDNA using whole-genome sequencing.
