Patricia Posey explores how high-cost financial market density varies across neighborhood political economies and the political consequences for those in these neighborhoods. Using geographic data and survey data in addition to interview data from Chicago and Philadelphia, results reveal where you live and how you experience financial institutions shape racial minorities’ feelings of political alienation and distrust of government.
