Testing and releasing new environmental biotechnologies raise questions about governance, communication with stakeholders and rightsholders, and responsible innovation. Delborne will describe his work to design meaningful stakeholder engagement in this space, referencing case studies like the genetically engineered American chestnut tree, genetic biocontrol strategies to manage aquatic invasive species in the Great Lakes region and more.
