The Unique Challenges of Engaging and Teaching First Year Students

In this hands-on workshop you will: (a) explore where 1st year students are developmentally, and the impact this can have on their learning, (b) uncover what they don’t know, as well as (c) discuss and experience teaching approaches and other supports they need to be successful and thrive in your classroom and on campus. This workshop is intended for graduate students and post-docs who will be TA-ing courses with first year undergraduates.
