Please join us in welcoming University of Southern Maine's Dušan Bjelić, Professor of Sociology, as he presents his lecture on the Balkans. In the critique of Balkanism, the Balkans gain specificity by virtue of this liminal status, of being neither here nor there, but in two places at the same time. Professor Bjelić will explore this concept of liminality as it applies to the Balkan region.
