Description
Taxation policy in the last sixty years of the imperial era of Russian history underwent several reforms, some of them more interesting than you may expect. NYU Professor Yanni Kotsonis presents his unique opinion and some of his research that went into his recent award-winning book on the subject, States of Obligation: Taxes and Citizenship in the Russian Empire and the Early Soviet Republic. Yanni Kotsonis is the Founding Director of the NYU Jordan Center for the Advanced Study of Russia.
