Join us as Gordey Yastrebov, a PhD researcher currently on a short-term exchange visit to UW-Madison, discusses Russia’s population age structure. In Russia, the effect of WWII on the population age structure continue to be visible even today; Russian demographers metaphorically term this phenomenon the ‘demographic echo of war.’ In this talk Gordey Yastrebov will present the results of his current dissertation research, in which he discusses this issue in the context of social mobility.
