Library of Stains Project--Multispectral Imaging of Old Books
Wednesday, December 13, 2017
9th Floor, Memorial Library
The Library of Stains Project (#StainAlive) is using new technologies for “dirty old books.” Multispectral imaging has increasingly been applied to the study of ancient and medieval manuscripts in order to uncover material evidence not visible to the naked eye, but contained in stains on the pages. Mike Toth, the imaging specialist, will be bringing his equipment to campus for a public lecture and demonstration of multispectral imaging conducted on materials from the UW Libraries.
