Description
The introduction of LiDAR imaging to Wisconsin has revolutionized archaeological survey. Numerous effigy mound sites have been identified, revealing what may be one of Wisconsin’s best-preserved mounded landscapes in far southwestern Wisconsin. Come hear archaeologist Amy Rosebrough of the Wisconsin Historical Society as she describes this new technology, and how it is sparking reconsideration of how local communities reacted to the events that ended effigy mound ceremony in the Midwest.
