Most principal investigators (PI’s) with federal awards are required by the terms of that funding to ensure that any peer-reviewed paper derived from research sponsored by their award is made publicly accessible by being placed in the funder’s repository. Failure to meet this mandate could potentially lead to the PI’s award being frozen or cancelled.
