Description

Learning is more engaging when it is collaborative and social, rather than competitive or isolated. Building community in your course makes teaching easier and more enjoyable. At this session we will challenge prevailing conceptions of “community,” explore interactive strategies to establish and sustain course community, and share and further develop course activities and/or structures for fostering community.

In this session, you will:

  1. Redefine “community” in your course.
  2. Develop inclusive strategies for collaborative learning and student interaction.

This workshop is part of the Teaching at UW Program.
