Description
(Rescheduled from March 7.) Ahmed Shawki will provide a historical overview of the roots of racism and the connections between racialized oppression and capitalism. He will discuss the long history of struggles for black liberation in the U.S. since the end of slavery. Participants will have context from which to discuss building an anti-racist, anti-oppression movement that considers both race and class as part of the struggle.
