This teacher training workshop, designed for middle and high-school teachers, will address how to discuss race in the contemporary classroom. Through the lens of the history of sugar, we will talk about slavery in the United States and indentured labor in the Caribbean, while reflecting on how these complex and traumatic histories continue to have an impact today.
