Description
WUD Publications Committee is proud to announce a speaker who recognizes the need for discussion of race and prejudice. Please join us in welcoming author Jennifer Morales to campus on Sunday, April 10th!
Jennifer Morales is the author of Meet Me Halfway, a collection of interconnected short stories about life in hyper-segregated Milwaukee. Her work has had such an impact on the Milwaukee community that Meet Me Halfway was chosen as this year's Common Reading Experience for students at UW-Milwaukee (much like the Go Big Read initiative here at UW-Madison).
At this event, Jennifer Morales will read from Meet Me Halfway and she will also talk about conversations she’s had in America’s most segregated cities, prompted by her “Please Talk with Me About Race” sign. The reading will be followed by a Q & A session and Morales will also be signing books after the presentation concludes. Books will be available for sale at the event.
